The Tribeca Film Institute called Thursday for film scripts with scientific or technological theme as part of its screenplay development program.
Deadline for submission to the program -- funded by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation -- is Dec. 15.
Current participants include Kenneth Lonergan, who will adapt his Broadway-bound play "The Starry Messenger" for the bigscreen; Nicole Perlman, whose "Challenger" is the story of Richard Feynman's role in the probe of the space shuttle's explosion; helmer Dan Zeff and producer Andrew Bendel, with comedy "Project Mustard"; and Peter Bogdanovich with "The Broken Code," a biopic about scientist Rosalind Franklin.
Writers will get a year of financial aid as well as advice from leading filmmakers and experts in science and technology to move the scripts into production.
